The Advanced Rating Maker
Re: The Advanced Rating Maker
The rating maker is meant to combine different type of values. For example games won with goals scored / game.
Games won, as percent, may result in a value between 1100, 80 for example.
Goals scored / games will be probable a number between 04, for example 2
Now, I considered a little bit strange and maybe not relevant to combine 80 and 2
So, I decided (maybe wrong) to give the possibility to translate 04 to 0100 in order to have the same scale.
If you select min 0 and max 4 will translate 04 to 0100 and the value 2 will be actually 50
Now we combine two numbers on the same scale 0100: 80 and 50
I hope it is a little bit more clear now.

Re: The Advanced Rating Maker
Now i understand about scored goals/game that primary pont of values to convert to percents are 04 goals. It`s clear. But then, what means these values (Ex. West Ham vs Totennham 28 and 16). Are these numbers are average percents between West Ham Ex. (wins at home 31% + scored goals 25% )/2=28% and so on?
And about weight choosing. If i will chose weight instead of 60:40 90:10, what will be the difference?
And what about my first screen with GG , why there are minus values in right table in top, and not minus values in right table in bottom (history)?
Sorry if my questions are interfering, but i want to understand how it works completely. Thank you in advance!

The numbers 28 and 16 represent the result after the system calculates the percent of games won (lets say it is W) and the number of goals scored/game. (lets say it is G)
Then the final result is W*60/100 + G*40/100 = 28 (in your example).
Of course if you select 90 10 then the value W will have greater weight. (90%) and the results will be different.
Normally.. I blocked minus values. I will check why they still appeear.

I am sorry, I did not pay attention. The negative numbers are the teams form. Nothing wrong there. The numbers may be positive or negative.Mihai wrote: Normally.. I blocked minus values. I will check why they still appeear.

Re: The Advanced Rating Maker
Hi Mihai,
I think this has great potential
However, I wonder whether the final rating number can be improved.
I I understand correctly, a team that has won 8 of its last 10 games would get the same rating as a team that lost 8 of its last 10 games.
Maybe we should extend range from 100 until +100, so that the team that lost 8 out of 10 gets a rating of minus 80.
So all positive results, such as scored, not lost, won etc, would get a positive number and all negative results such like, not scored, not won, lost would get a negative number.
This way we would know immediately that a team with a value +70 is a team on fire and a team with a value of 70 is somehow struggling.
What do you think?

Re: The Advanced Rating Maker
Does the advanced rating system also include head 2 head performance and ELO rating in addition to the listed rating parameters

Re: The Advanced Rating Maker
Also are rating system made only for calculating probability of a home win..are the parameters meant to good home team values vs poor away team values.
cos the sample config e.g test weighs home wins vs away losses ?
